NHL'96 is another hot game made by EA Sports. In it you play hockey
as the real NHL teams. You compete against other teams in head-to-head
battle, or you can play together on a team. It was made in 95 and has
all the rosters from 95.
Graphics: [8/10]
I gave the graphics on this game an 8 because I liked them especially
for a 1995 game. They could have made a few things look better/more
realistic like the players or the crowd. Everything else looks nice.
Music/Sound: [7/10]
The music comes on alot but it plays the same few songs over and over
again. It does have the audience cheering and you can here the checks.
The music hardly lasts that long though.
Gameplay: [7/10]
It is fun to play seasons which are very long, and the shootouts are
o.k. It is very easy to score a goal however.
Challenge/Replay: [5/10]
After a while the game becomes very easy to win. The goals are really
easy to score and it's really easy to stop the other team from
scoring. It also becomes very boring after you have had it for a while.
Overall/Conclusion: [7/10]
The game is like many other EA sports games. They are interesting to
play but after a while they just are no fun. I did like some of the
qualities though like the way the game is so realistic [not the
graphics]. It's an o.k. game but probably not as good as the newer
one's.
